What you should know about your web app

Internet revolution was instrumental for bringing out the pragmatic changes in the business process. These changes virtually necessitated the launch of e-commerce as an effective business tool. The whole world is now moving to the next stage of e-commerce which is called M-commerce.

M-commerce Prospect:

According to an unofficial estimate, in some developing countries like India M-commerce is to growin double digits on YOY (Year on Year) basis and it is to manage exceedingly high volume of e-commerce business to the tune of 40% in near future. Developed countries too are no exception since smartphone penetration in developed countries is very high somewhere close to 80%. It means M-commerce has a bright future.
The USP (Unique Selling Proposition) of M-commerce is that it offers mobility, captive audience and convenience at the user end. As a matter of fact, Google I/O 2015 (I/O stands for input/output and innovation in the open) has stressed upon incorporating vast changes in its apps which aim to benefit the businesses around the world. If you haven’t done your site app friendly yet, you are surely missing the opportunities to connect with your TG (Target Group).

Priority areas for M-commerce development as per Google I/O 2015:
  1. App permission: Google has eased app installations without asking to divulge identity. Information like the location of services will suffice the purpose. It means apps will become operational much faster on Android platform.
  2. Android M preview: This ushers to more APIs (API stands for Application Programming Interface) working towards increased user experience through autonomy on Android Pay, permission to applications, increased battery life and custom chrome tabs.
  3. Design support Library: Designing for apps has been made easy. This will increase the speed of work at the developers end.

These measures are directed towards creating greater consumer experience on M-commerce. Does your web design partner have the capacity and skill for incorporating the requisite changes in your app? If not, it’s the high time for a change. It is an onus to mention that Google I/O takes place every year in the US.

What if you don’t incorporate changes to your app?

The answer is straight and simple. If you don’t upgrade the app, you will then fail to connect with your TG in many ways such as the following.
  • Churning out: Your app users will gradually churn out in the absence of speed and having asked to follow the cumbersome process for the app installation. This will summarily affect your business too hard.
  • Poor consumer experience: The app will fail to display HD (High Definition) video and photographs thereby will reduce the opportunities for consumer experience. You will have a sluggish sale in consequence.

Bottom Line:

In today’s time, your site must have an app that works at par with the current trend in the market. Your app in no way can afford to be below par compared to your competition. Always take the first mover’s advantage in business for staying fit and fine!
